A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Sunday to help clear round the back of the hall! Jenny, Iain, Becci, Scott, Carol, Tony, Laura, Gordon, Gabby and Jo all pitched in to clear brash, weeds, wild shrubs and overgrowth, and the hall grounds are looking great again as a result. Whether you gave an hour or the whole afternoon, it made a real difference. Thank you! And a thank you too Janine for the cake! We also want to take this moment to say a special thank you to Gordon, who has looked after and nurtured our garden for a long time and is now stepping back from that role. Gordon, we're so grateful for everything you've put into keeping our garden wonderful. With Gordon stepping back, we're looking for local volunteers to help take over caring for the garden going forward. If you'd be interested in getting involved, even just occasionally, please get in touch or drop a comment below. No experience needed, just enthusiasm!
Come on down to Craignish Village Hall to see the work of artists from Youth Arts Argyll in Hall 2, and local artist's collective, 'Babes of The Bog', downstairs in Hall 3. A very warm welcome awaits you in both exhibition spaces. Babes of The Bog are opening this Wednesday evening 8-10pm as well as all this weekend. Some lovely stuff happening at your hall over the next month Venue 43 on the Artmap trail - we are showing work from Youth Arts Argyll Alumni - Bea Catterwell, Tansy Scott, Lily Walsh, Ruby Crabb and Magnus Hampton. The infamous creators of the 'BogZine' Lizzie Quick, Tilly and Josie Macara will be taking over hall 3. Catchacarrot Vegan Pop-up will be serving lunches and delicious cakes. We are open weekends only 21st-22nd & 29th-30th August, 11-6 on Saturdays and 12-6 on Sundays. Don't miss the innovative and exciting musical fusion of Naad-hara, supported by Chamber Music Scotland, performing on the 9th September - blending Indian and Gàelic traditional sounds. We're looking for a cleaner to help look after our Hall on a regular basis. The role involves cleaning the Village Hall once a week at £14 per hour, typically for up to 2 hours, with occasional extra time when needed. Working hours are flexible and can be arranged around hall bookings. All cleaning supplies and equipment are provided.
